In 1724, in the Cognac wine region of France, the young Rémy Martin first sold cognac under his own name. His cognac was appreciated in narrow circles of the nobility and after only 14 years, King Louis XV gave him permission to plant vines. In the following century, Rémy Martin cognac gained popularity and was exported to the United States, Asia and the Pacific Islands.
Rémy Martin is produced from grapes grown in the best vineyards of the Cognac region. In the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne subregions there are soils rich in limestone layers, which nourish the vines, and on the surface the stone reflects the sun and ensures perfect ripening.
The grape varieties used in the production of Rémy Martin cognac are mainly: Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Folle Blance. To receive the Controlled Designation of Origin, offered by French law, the cognac must be distilled twice in copper stills and matured for at least two years in oak barrels.
APPEARANCE: Amber, with golden reflections, in the premium decanter created by Rémy Martin artisans.
SMELL: XO (Extra Old), brings a generous scent of ripe late summer fruits, mixed with floral notes of jasmine, fruits and spices. More sensitive notes of honey, jasmine, cinnamon and saffron complete the elegant perfume of this expression.
TASTE: The most gifted batches from the Remy Martin cellar are chosen to offer silky body, with aromas of juicy fruits - plums, ripe figs and ginger. These are balanced by a gourmet blend of walnuts, fresh hazelnuts and roasted coffee beans.
FINISH: Long, with aromas of sweet, juicy fruits and toasted hazelnuts.
